Photoshoot

This photoshoot was done right after we came and I can surely say we all had a blast at this photoshoot! The girls enjoyed Kimonos and dresses, as well as their first professional hair-dos. They made us laugh by creating their own poses, which were very much American. Stay tuned for the professional images later on - thanks to the great photographer, styling team, and my sister who made it happen! かなり昔から両親・妹・娘たちからの希望で決まっていた、着物での写真撮影。もうすぐ5歳、7歳半の甥っ子と一緒に、写真館で帰国後3日後に撮っていただきました。着物を着せて頂き、髪を結ってもらい、きれいだなーとため息をつく暇もなく、今度は撮ってくれといわんばかりにアメリカ的ポーズをどんどんきめだし、カメラマンともども大爆笑の渦。7歳以下の4人を同時撮影で、スタジオはもうてんやわんやの大騒動でしたが、写真はなかなか上手に撮れていて（カメラマンさんってほんとにすごい）、今週末写真ができるのが楽しみです。それまで、私の撮った写真でも、なんとか楽しさがつたわるでしょうか。追伸：実家付近の方、カメラのオリブさん、おススメです。こんなに時間を取って、嫌な顔どころかハイ・テンションでずっと楽しく笑顔で撮影してもらって、本当に感謝！

Tea Ceremony

This is another cultural experience for our girls - tea ceremony! For more information in regards to tea ceremony, please click here. テメスゲン来日時と同じく、妹がお世話になっているお茶・お花の先生にお願いし、ミーシャとリヤにお茶を体験させて頂いた。先生が外国育ちの人が苦手なものをよく認識して下さり、椅子やお抹茶の濃さなど、いろいろな事に配慮して頂き、子どもたちにとってはこれも本当に貴重な体験になった。横では妹がお花のお稽古。昔から芸術的センスのある妹、花が上手に入ります。私も6年ほどお花を習いましたが、やはりセンスがないようです（汗）。「お母さんはすごい妹や両親、おじさんおばさん、友達がいていいね。」　昨日の夜、お布団に寝転がりながらミーシャがふと言いました。この3週間の里帰りを充実させてくれている皆に感謝です。

Summer Festivals

We have lots of summer festivals in Japan, especially from late July to mid August. Some are organized by cities and others by communities. This festival is organized by a nearby community, filled with kids activities, music and dance (Bon-dance). There are no words to describe how I felt at seeing my girls dance with Mom in the Yukatas (summer kimonos) that I used to wear 30 years ago! This moment alone made this long trip worthwhile.

早いもので、日本帰省も半分が過ぎた。毎日少しずつ、やりたかった事、会いたかった人リストに、済マークがついている。これは近所の夏祭り。今は亡き父方祖父母の家の町内である。まずはいとこ4人で記念写真。

亡き祖母が子どもの頃、用意してくれた浴衣を、和裁のできる妹に肩上げしてもらい、ミーシャとリヤに着せることができた。そして、ステキな和太鼓の鳴る中、毎日のように踊っている母と共に子どもたちも盆踊りを体験。それをビデオに撮りながら、感慨無量。日本に来て本当によかった。ずっと子どもたちの記憶に残ってくれるといいな。

Japan Part 2 chopsticks (by Misha)

you might be a little girl starting to use chopsticks,or you don`t know how to use chopsticks.you just try your best to use what you want.i always wanted to use chopsticks,so i got stuck using baby kinds.so i tryed,and tryed,and tryed,until i finily got it!how to use chopsticks.so you to should try your best to eat with chopsticks.so that is when liya,{my sister}started trying to use real chopsticks.even thou you know how to use chopsticks,help other people to use chopsticks.then you just might be the angle of helping.so follow what i said,always help someone who needs help.don`t try to be mean,be nice to other people who also helps you.so,always follow misha`s advice on sweet home alabama.i really love when you read my notes.

the japanese kids menu had:meat balls [it was actually a Japanese style hamburger],corn surup [soup],sausege,letese,and that\@s all i can think of.thank you for lising [listening]to misha\\\\\`s show!bye!

Japan Part 1 (by kids)

[How japan works by:Misha Temesgen]It`s really good learning japanese stuff.you will really love it in here.but,sometimes stuff do not work.but it`s okay if they don`t work.japanese grapes are really small.you can eat them:by puting the grape in your mouth whole,or you can suck in the juice and leave the outside and that`s how you eat the grapes.and if you don`t know how japanese,you can ask my mom,noriko.and japanese people wash their bodies very quickly.i just can`t tell how quickly they wash there bodies.

Dance Recital 2013

　今年もダンス・リサイタルが無事終了しました。今回は朝11時、午後2時半と6時半の3公演すべてに出たので、1人計7回の衣装替え、かけること２。ということで、私はかなり疲れました（笑）。演目はバレエ、タップ、そしてジャズ。着替えを手伝うため、後方に座っていたので、なかなかいい写真が取れませんでしたが、バレエの写真だけはなんとか。グランマ、他はプロの出来を待ちましょう。去年おととしと観ている子達がどんどん上手になって、娘達の枠をこえて、本当に嬉しいです。みんな一年、嫌な時もあっただろうに、よくがんばりました！今年は、韓国シンガーのダンス・ソング（名前なんだっけ？）で大爆笑。ダンス・コンペティション（競技会）に出て、賞をもらっている子も多いので、毎年ダンス・リサイタルはなかなかの見栄えです。娘達よ、また友達と一緒に一年がんばっておくれ！他の子達みたいにお化粧はしてあげられないけど、それで十分だよ。 （注：ブログ管理が大幅更新されてから、いまだに写真のサイズの変え方がわからないので、毎回小さい写真の連続で申し訳ありません。）

写真撮影会

[photo shoot for ballet recital: costumes for ballet, tap and jazz]いつまでたっても慣れないのはステージメークと、リサイタル前の殺気だった楽屋ですが、それ以外は先生達に良くしてもらって、私も楽しみにしているバレエです。来月に控えた発表会に向けて、今年も写真撮影がありました。私はこういう事にはまったく興味がありませんが、子供たちは大興奮。これを励みに、あと3週間の練習もがんばってほしいと思います。
